The infinitesimal model
نویسنده
چکیده
Our focus here is on the infinitesimal model. In this model, one or several quantitative traits are described as the sum of a genetic and a non-genetic component, the first being distributed within families as a normal random variable centred at the average of the parental genetic components, and with a variance independent of the parental traits. We first review the long history of the infinitesimal model in quantitative genetics. Then we provide a definition ∗NHB supported in part by ERC Grant 250152 †AME supported in part by EPSRC Grant EP/K034316/1 ‡AV supported by the chaire Modélisation Mathématique et Biodiversité of Veolia Environment École Polytechnique Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle Fondation X

On Infinitesimal Conformal Transformations of the Tangent Bundles with the Generalized Metric
Let be an n-dimensional Riemannian manifold, and be its tangent bundle with the lift metric. Then every infinitesimal fiber-preserving conformal transformation induces an infinitesimal homothetic transformation on . Furthermore, the correspondence gives a homomorphism of the Lie algebra of infinitesimal fiber-preserving conformal transformations on onto the Lie algebra of infinitesimal ...
متن کاملAn Infinitesimal Model for Quantitative Trait Genomic Value Prediction
We developed a marker based infinitesimal model for quantitative trait analysis. In contrast to the classical infinitesimal model, we now have new information about the segregation of every individual locus of the entire genome. Under this new model, we propose that the genetic effect of an individual locus is a function of the genome location (a continuous quantity). The overall genetic value ...
متن کاملThe Symmetries of Equivalent Lagrangian Systems and Constants of Motion
In this paper Mathematical structure of time-dependent Lagrangian systems and their symmetries are extended and the explicit relation between constants of motion and infinitesimal symmetries of time-dependent Lagrangian systems are considered. Starting point is time-independent Lagrangian systems ,then we extend mathematical concepts of these systems such as equivalent lagrangian systems to th...
متن کاملCommentary: Fisher's infinitesimal model: A story for the ages.
Mendel (1866) suggested that if many heritable "factors" contribute to a trait, near-continuous variation could result. Fisher (1918) clarified the connection between Mendelian inheritance and continuous trait variation by assuming many loci, each with small effect, and by informally invoking the central limit theorem. Barton et al. (2017) rigorously analyze the approach to a multivariate Gauss...

In this paper a novel method for computing the radiation pattern and also the input impedance of a planar rectangular micro-strip antenna array with consideration of mutual coupling and mutual impedance is presented. Each two triangles with a common edge make an Edge element or RWG. Any such edge element is considered as an infinitesimal dipole. The electrical currents over each dipole can be c...
